Great seat belts
October 23, 2021
When my husband finished building his 1956 ford truck i hounded him to install some descent seat belts. After much debate he installed these belts in gray. They looked great, but fr whatever reason I ended up never wearing the belt as a passenger and always slid in the center next to my man. Eventually the buckles ended up behind the seat. Last week i needed to use the truck while my car was in the shop. As i was getting on the expressway i went for the seat belt only to realize the buckle
Was unaccessable i go off at the next exit and liberated the buckle. The belt was actually more comfortable than the belts in my new car. I was glad the belts were there and will wear them a lot more in the future

High quality product that was easy to install, versatile and inexpensive. I was able to keep my truck legal by replacing the original seat belts that had locked up. My only complaint is that - for my vehicle - the size and orientation of the retraction reel makes it impossible to put back the plastic interior trim over the door column. Not a big issue for my 15-year old truck, but might be a problem for someone if appearance is important.

when the latch piece is pulled across the drivers body and latched into the stationary floor piece, it is fine. when it is un latched and retracts, the latch piece, (since it does not slide freely like the stock belt) can only retract up to the mounting point on the door post. this leaves excess belt that catches in the door.
Hi Gene, thank you for your detailed review. Regarding the male buckle portion, we need to stay with our version of that since our seat belts are "universal fit" and can be used in many different applications / vehicles. Using a free floating one with a stop button would not work in all applications. The male buckle portion can be adjusted by sliding it to a different spot on the belt. Also, some autos have a shoulder anchor point height adjuster that can be adjusted up or down...if you do, you can adjust it up higher. Thanks again!
Replacment buckles in 1st Gen Dakota

I ordered these to replace 30 year old belts in a 1988 Dodge Dakota. For both sides, I needed one mounting hardware kit (so I have a spare complete kit now) to get the 90* mount at the bottom. They would be perfect if I could get the buckle tongue and the retractor spun 180*; but the fit good and work, just have one twist in the strap to fit. And look GREAT - dark navy against Pacific Blue seats!
